This document details the Recreation and Open Space Advisory Committee meeting held on June 11, 2026. The meeting included updates on various park projects. MK Rawlings Park/Kate Barnes Ramp project is with procurement, with bidding expected July 1st. Poe Springs Park has completed electricity in restrooms and finalized the boat launch, which will be sent to procurement. Copeland and Monteocha Parks are planned for new playgrounds, parking, pavilions, accessibility improvements, landscaping, and lighting. Construction documents for Monteocha Park are being finalized with A&E consultants. Jonesville received DRC approval 3 weeks ago. Westend Park is considering a golf partnership, otherwise the original plan will proceed. Pinesville Park/St. Peter Park bid was accepted and awaits board approval on June 23rd. Cuscowilla Nature and Retreat Center has installed solar light bases and fixtures, and is addressing drainage. Video Surveillance Systems project was canceled and transferred to the IT Department. Palm Point Park awaits finalization of the deed from the city. Jill McGuire Santa Fe Lake Park and Squirrel Ridge Park are working on new A&E proposals. Soccer Field Renovations at Jonesville & Veterans Parks have started. Jonesville Tennis Stucco Replacement storage building is complete, with exterior work to follow. ROSCO Goals and Tax Bill & Budget Impact were moved to the August 13th meeting. The next meeting is scheduled for August 13th at Freedom Community Center at 4:00 pm. The meeting adjourned at 5:09 pm.
