The Tourist Development Council met on July 8, 2026. The council considered a recommendation to approve a $2,000 Special Events Marketing Grant for the Crystal River Nights Concert Series 2026, scheduled for September 19, October 10, and November 21, 2026. The council also reviewed a presentation of the Miles Partnership's FY 2027 Media Plan for the Visitors and Convention Bureau, with a projected budget of $982,700. Additionally, financial reports and a destination update were presented. The meeting also included approval of the May 13, 2026, meeting minutes. Public comment during the May 13th meeting included praise for the Eco Compliant Program from Paul Cross and Kimberly Stibbs, with Peter Webber speaking against it. Kimberly Altman also supported the program, and Auvis Cole indicated openness to amendments.
