The Flag and Memorial Committee met on April 21, 2026. A motion to hold the Astronaut Memorial Ceremony on Saturday instead of Sunday was made by Member Northcutt, seconded by Member Raque, and passed unanimously. The ceremony will take place on January 30, 2027. The committee also discussed the installation of a flag and flagpole at Kirk Point Riverside Park, with the cost of the pole stated as $7,000. A fundraiser event hosted by the Elks Lodge is scheduled for May 30, 2026. The committee discussed the USA 250th Parade and Memorial Day ceremonies. In new business, the committee approved holding the Astronaut Memorial Ceremony on Saturday, January 30, 2027. Under roundtable discussion, Vice-Chair Pedersen reported a successful Fashion Show with a profit of $15,356.58. Member Raque stated they have ordered approximately 260 flags for the LaGrange cemetery. Member Fuller attended a TOPS convention. Member Swink reported good member activity and successful Bingo games. Chairman Marquette noted the museum's success during the Artemis II launch and the growth of the museum and its podcast. Member Rathborne reported on events and a cookout for STEM parents. Member Northcutt mentioned the Auxiliary's 80th anniversary celebration on May 2, 2026. Guest Wlazlo discussed his military background and student status. The meeting was adjourned at 12:30 p.m.
