Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) is seeking to award Contract No. SS-10569 for Dabico PCA and 400Hz Systems, Parts and Replacement to Dabico Airport Solutions, Inc. This is a non-competitive designated purchase due to the proprietary nature of the Dabico systems installed at Miami International Airport (MIA). The contract is for an initial five-year term with one, five-year option to renew, totaling $26,122,966.00. The purpose is to ensure critical equipment for pre-conditioned air and 400Hz ground power systems remains operational, reducing costs and environmental impact by allowing aircraft to shut down onboard Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) while parked. Competition is not practicable as Dabico is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and sole provider for maintenance and parts. The current contract expires December 31, 2026. The Aviation and Seaport Committee forwarded this item to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) with a favorable recommendation on July 13, 2026. The BCC agenda date is September 1, 2026.
