This legislative item concerns a resolution to authorize an additional five years and $147,080,000 in expenditure authority for Prequalification Pool No. RTQ-01841, Passenger Boarding Bridges, for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) and PortMiami. The total modified cumulative pool amount will be $297,464,300. The purpose is to continue procuring the purchase and installation of new passenger boarding bridges, refurbishment of existing ones, and purchase of parts and supplies. MDAD requires $137,080,000 for 40 new bridges, refurbishment of 50 existing ones, and parts. PortMiami requires $10,000,000 for new bridges for the North Bulkhead project and modifications/repairs. The pool was established on November 2, 2021, and currently has eight prequalified vendors, including four local vendors, two of which are certified SBE firms. The pool will remain open for additional qualified vendors. The item is currently in committee.
