PASSENGER BOARDING BRIDGES (MOD)
Aviation and Seaport Committee · 2026-07-13 · resolution
Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to authorize an additional five years and $147,080,000 in expenditure authority for Prequalification Pool No. RTQ-01841, Passenger Boarding Bridges. This pool serves the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) and PortMiami. The extension aims to fund the purchase and installation of new passenger boarding bridges, refurbishment of existing ones, and procurement of parts and supplies. MDAD requires $137,080,000 for approximately 40 new bridges, refurbishment of 50 existing ones, and parts. PortMiami requires $10,000,000 for new bridges for the North Bulkhead project and modifications/repairs. The pool was initially established on November 2, 2021, for a five-year term and currently has eight prequalified vendors, including four local vendors, two of which are certified Small Business Enterprises (SBE). The pool will remain open to add qualified vendors. Any contract award exceeding $5,000,000, or $1,500,000 for MDAD, requires Board ratification. The pool's current cumulative allocation is $150,384,300, and with the requested extension, it will reach a modified cumulative allocation of $297,464,300, expiring on December 31, 2031.
