Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners approved the award of a competitive revenue-generating contract, Contract No. EVN0000341, for an American Sports Bar at Miami International Airport (MIA) to SSP America MIA, LLC. The contract is for a 10-year term with projected revenues of $12,000,000.00 for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department. The concession will feature a U.S. stadium-inspired concept and will be located on the third floor of the Concourse E Satellite Building. The vendor will pay the County the greater of a percentage of gross revenues (18% for alcohol, 14% for other sales) or the prevailing Class VI Terminal rental rate. The contract includes provisions for finance, design, construction, management, operation, and maintenance. The process involved receiving three proposals, with two deemed non-responsive due to missing pricing. Negotiations and contract edits were delayed due to various factors, including FAA guidance and revisions to MIA concession agreements. The Living Wage Ordinance applies.
