Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners ratified an emergency contract for work at the Alexander Orr Water Treatment Plant. The contract, No. EC-298173, was awarded to Industrial Divers Corp. Inc. for $268,298.00 to address an unexpected underwater obstruction of calcium carbonate buildup in the common channel supplying Contact Basin #4. This obstruction restricted water flow, reduced the plant's hydraulic capacity, and posed a risk to water quality standards and public health.
