RENEWAL OF SCHOOL BOARD REFERENDUM

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution calling for a countywide election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The election will allow electors to vote on whether to authorize the School Board of Miami-Dade County to maintain a one (1) mill ad valorem tax levy exclusively for operating expenses for public schools, including public charter schools. This levy is intended to continue improving compensation for teachers and instructional personnel and to improve student safety and school security, with oversight by a Citizen Advisory Committee. The tax period would be from July 1, 2027, to June 30, 2031. The School Board of Miami-Dade County requested this election, and will pay for all election expenses. The resolution was adopted on May 19, 2026.
