ACQUISITION OF THE FUEL FACILITY

Miami-Dade County is proceeding with the acquisition of a fuel facility property on Fisher Island, identified as Parcels 1 and 2, for the continued operation of a fuel facility for PortMiami. The acquisition is deemed a public necessity. The County Mayor or designee and County Attorney are authorized to acquire the property through negotiation or eminent domain, with an option for an incentive offer up to 15 percent over the appraised value. The current operator, TransMontaigne Terminals, LLC, will cease operations by May 2027, and the owner, HRP Fisher Island, LLC, intends to repurpose the property for residential housing. The acquisition is funded by Seaport Revenue Bonds. Appraisals range from $25 million to $430 million.
