Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-476-26, approving the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Annual Public Housing Agency Plan. The plan includes establishing a site-based waiting list for Helen Sawyer Plaza Assisted Living Facility, standardizing admission preferences with a weighted point system prioritizing homeless, veterans, and disabled individuals, and updating demolition/disposition activities. Revisions to Project-Based Voucher resident rights and participation standards are also included, along with amendments to project configurations for several developments including Rainbow Village/Gwen Cherry, Culmer Place/Culmer Gardens Phase 1, Newberg/New Haven Gardens, Gwen Cherry 06 and 22, Victory Homes, Arthur Mays, Naranja, Pine Island I & II, Modello II (vacant land), Kline Nunn, Little River Plaza, and Little River Terrace. The County Mayor or designee is authorized to submit the plan and any necessary revisions to HUD. Public comment included concerns from Renita Holmes regarding Housing Quality Standards enforcement for residents with disabilities and inspector training/corruption, warning of potential litigation.
