This legislative matter concerns the status of two sets of public housing developments. The Board of County Commissioners was directed to seek HUD consent to dispose of Arthur Mays Villas, Naranja, Modello II, and Pine Island public housing developments with SG South Miami-Dade Ventures, LLC, and Kline Nunn, Little River Plaza, and Little River Terrace public housing developments with PCSH Little River Development, LLC, without a competitive process. HUD denied this request on March 13, 2026. The Little River developments are part of a $15,000,000.00 grant from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for resiliency upgrades, including 232 public housing units. Due to HUD's denial, a competitive process is now recommended to proceed with the redevelopment of these sites. The matter was deferred by the Board of County Commissioners.
