An ordinance was adopted to expand the boundaries of the Biscayne Drive Estates Community Development District (CDD). The expansion adds approximately 54.43 acres to the existing district, increasing the total acreage from 64.02 to 118.45 acres. This expansion will accommodate an additional 166 residential units, bringing the total to 319 units. The project involves approximately $15.08 million in infrastructure costs for the expansion. The CDD will provide funding for capital improvements and maintenance functions within the expanded area. Private roads and infrastructure will be maintained by a Homeowners' Association or the District, with dormant Special Taxing Districts (Abess and Abess South Multipurpose Maintenance Special Taxing Districts) available for maintenance obligations if needed. The CDD is a special-purpose local government created under Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes.
