Miami-Dade County Commission amended Resolution 260749 to authorize an additional expenditure of $24,980,000 for Contract No. RFP-01071, the Bus Passenger Shelter Program. This brings the total modified amount to $54,944,885. The project aims to install 500 additional bus passenger shelters with illumination systems and trash receptacles within the Unincorporated Municipal Service Area (UMSA). This initiative is intended to modernize bus stop infrastructure, improve rider comfort and safety, and support the County's Extreme Heat Action Plan. The vendor for this contract is Outfront Media Group, LLC. Funding will be provided through the People's Transportation Plan (PTP) Bond Program. The Transportation Committee forwarded this item with a favorable recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners.
