Miami-Dade County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-488-26, ratifying an emergency contract (E-10658) for Central Chiller Plant Condenser Water Repairs (Phase 1) to Botas Engineering, Inc. for $305,228.00. The repairs are for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department at Miami International Airport to address critical failures in the condenser water system and structural deterioration of cooling towers, which are impacting the airport's cooling capacity and posing an operational emergency. Phase 2 construction services, with an anticipated budget of $35 million, will be presented separately. The contract was adopted on June 2, 2026, following an emergency declaration on December 12, 2025.
