Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners ratified Change Order No. 1 to Contract No. S-16094 for the construction of the Central District Wastewater Treatment Plant (CDWWTP) New Materials Management Building and Storage Areas. The change order grants a 51-day non-compensable time extension to Magnum Construction Management, LLC, revising the Substantial Completion date from March 21, 2026, to May 11, 2026, and the Final Completion date from April 20, 2026, to June 10, 2026. The extension is due to delays in obtaining a Class VI Permit, attributed to the specialized design and environmental sensitivity of the coastal location. The project involves a 3,525 square foot building with office space, warehousing, receiving areas, outdoor storage canopies, earthwork, paving, grading, pile foundation, roofing, HVAC, plumbing, fire pumps, electrical systems, and network infrastructure. The project aims to enhance operational resilience, improve storage, and support sustainability goals, including LEED Silver Certification. The relocation of this building will allow for the demolition of an existing facility to make way for a new Electrical Distribution Building No. 3. There is no fiscal impact to the county. The contract was originally awarded on October 3, 2024, for $28,095,287.50, with a contingency allowance of $1,987,250.00.
