Miami-Dade County Commission deferred a resolution to approve the City of Miami's codesignation of Northwest 14th Avenue between Northwest 28th Street and Northwest 26th Street as "Wilfredo ‘Willy’ Gort Way". The deferral was requested by Commissioner Hardemon to no date certain. The City of Miami passed a resolution on April 9, 2026, to codesignate this portion of the road, and the County was asked to install signage. The action honors Wilfredo Gort, a former City of Miami Commissioner, Vice Mayor, and Acting Mayor, for his public service.
