Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-480-26, ratifying a contract with Hitachi Rail STS USA for $6,729,260.00 for the purchase and overhaul of 10 rail vehicle trucks for the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW). Commissioner Bermudez expressed concern about the significant delay in presenting the contract for ratification, noting it was awarded in December 2023 but brought before the board in June 2026. DTPW is implementing process improvements to prevent future delays.
