Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-480-26 on June 2, 2026, ratifying a contract with Hitachi Rail STS USA, Inc. for $6,729,260.00. The contract is for the purchase and overhaul of 10 rail vehicle trucks for the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW), specifically to replace components damaged in accidents and derailments and to complete six-year overhauls. The trucks are original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts, necessary for system compatibility and operational safety.
