DISASTER DEBRIS REMOVAL MONITORING SERVICES

Board of County Commissioners · 2026-06-16 · resolution

Miami-Dade County Commissioners adopted an amended resolution directing the County Mayor or designee to negotiate and award Contract No. EVN0016781, Disaster Debris Removal Monitoring Services, to Thompson Consulting Services, LLC. The contract is for an initial five-year term with one, five-year option to renew, and is for multiple county departments. The decision was made after considerable discussion regarding the scoring of proposals, with some commissioners favoring Thompson Consulting Services, LLC due to a nearly $1 million cost savings compared to the initially recommended vendor, Tetra Tech, Inc. The contract's total value is approximately $95 million. Separately, the Board also approved and ratified the 2026-2029 Collective Bargaining Agreement between Miami-Dade County and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, A.F.L.-C.I.O., Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department Employees Local 121. This agreement covers various changes including work rules, compliance with state law, and provisions for reopening negotiations on wages, overtime, special wage provisions, and group health insurance. The collective bargaining agreement is effective upon ratification by the Union and approval by the Board, and remains in force through May 31, 2029.
