Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution authorizing an extension of Prequalification Pool No. RTQ-01778 for Elderly Meal Services for the Community Services Department. The extension grants an additional five years with an expenditure authority of $14,125,000.00, bringing the total modified cumulative pool amount to $29,125,000.00. This allows for the continued purchase of nutritious meals for elderly clients through congregate meal sites and the Meals on Wheels program. The pool is federally funded by the Alliance for Aging, Inc. under the Older Americans Act. Nine prequalified vendors, all with local addresses, are currently in the pool. The extension aims for greater efficiency and reduced administrative work for both vendors and the County. Any contract award under the pool exceeding $5,000,000.00 requires ratification by the Board.
