Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-486-26, extending Prequalification Pool No. RTQ-01778 for Elderly Meal Services for the Community Services Department. The extension grants an additional five years with an expenditure authority of $14,125,000, bringing the total modified cumulative pool amount to $29,125,000. This pool provides nutritious, ready-made meals for elderly clients through congregate meal sites, adult care centers, and the Meals on Wheels program for homebound individuals. The extension aims to streamline processes, reduce administrative burdens for vendors, and ensure continued service delivery. Nine prequalified vendors, all with local addresses, are currently in the pool. Commissioner Lopez raised concerns about meal distribution and food insecurity among seniors in District 5, requesting a list of vendors and their service areas, which was to be provided post-meeting.
