EMERGENCY PUSH AND CLEAR
Board of County Commissioners · 2026-06-02 · resolution
Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution authorizing a three-year extension for Prequalification Pool No. RTQ-00867, which provides Emergency Push & Clear and Debris Removal Services for multiple county departments. This extension is time-only and does not request additional expenditure authority. The pool is used for services such as pushing, clearing, and hauling vegetative debris from roadways, bridges, rights-of-way, transit corridors, parks, and park waterways, as well as removal of stumps and hazardous trees/limbs during declared emergencies. The extension aims to maintain efficiency and reduce administrative work for both vendors and the County. Contract awards under the pool exceeding $5,000,000, or $1,500,000 for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department, require ratification by the Board. The pool was originally established on November 8, 2018, with an initial allocation of $330,000,000 for an eight-year term. Currently, there are 12 active prequalified vendors, with nine having local addresses. Due diligence was performed on all vendors, with two vendors (T.F.R. Enterprises, Inc. and Thomas Maintenance Services, Inc.) noted as having ongoing litigation, and two (T.F.R. Enterprises, Inc. and Weed-A-Way, Inc.) having prior resolved litigation histories, none of which adversely impacted the County's pool.
