INCREASING SECURITY GUARD
Board of County Commissioners · 2026-06-02 · ordinance
Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted an ordinance ratifying non-ad valorem assessment rolls, rates, and assessments for 20 certain security guard special taxing districts for the fiscal year commencing October 1, 2026, and ending September 30, 2027. The total assessment for these 20 districts is $10,490,955. These funds are necessary to continue providing security guard services, including contractual increases from private security companies and off-duty police, to maintain mandated service levels. The assessments are levied on properties within the affected districts and will be collected on the 2026 real property tax bills. Failure to pay may result in property liens and potential loss of title. The ordinance was adopted on first reading on May 5, 2026, and finally adopted on June 2, 2026. Exhibit A, which contains the legal descriptions of the areas, units of measurement, and assessment amounts for each of the 20 districts, is incorporated by reference but not provided in this document.
