MENTAL HEALTH CENTER

Board of County Commissioners · 2026-06-16 · resolution

Miami-Dade County Commissioners adopted a resolution authorizing the negotiation and execution of amendments to a lease and plans for the Mental Health Center located at 2200 NW 7th Avenue, Miami, Florida. This action approves non-competitive contracts totaling up to $45,687,127.00 for services at the center. The contracts are with The Village South, Inc. (and its parent WestCare Foundation, Inc.) for mental health services ($27,218,627.00 for three years with renewal options) and The Advocate Program Inc. for ancillary services ($4,169,861.00 for three years with renewal options). The resolution also approves the allocation of Opioid Funding for the center's operations from FY 2025-2026 through September 30, 2031. An expedited request for proposals will be issued for mental health and substance use disorder outpatient treatment services, and transitional housing and supportive services. The resolution mandates research, data collection, oversight, and biannual reviews by the Miami-Dade County Behavioral Health Advisory Board and potentially Jackson Health System. Core county services are to remain fully funded and unaffected by center funding.
