RELATING TO PASSENGER MOTOR CARRIER VEHICLES

Miami-Dade County is considering an ordinance (File Number: 260868) to revise vehicle age requirements for passenger motor carrier vehicles (PMCs) providing circulator or fixed route services. The proposed change would allow these vehicles to operate up to 20 model years of age or 350,000 miles, whichever comes first, provided they meet all inspection and vehicle standards. This change is in response to a resolution from the City of Coral Gables. The ordinance was adopted on first reading by the Board of County Commissioners on June 2, 2026, and is scheduled for a public hearing before the Transportation Committee on July 14, 2026.
