Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution authorizing the negotiation of an agreement with ANDE Corporation to purchase three ANDE Rapid DNA Systems. The county will also apply for and receive grant funds from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement totaling approximately $7,903,270.00 to cover the cost of these systems. The systems are intended for use in the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department's Intake and Release Bureau to expedite identification processes and potentially match individuals to unsolved cases. The resolution waives a previous requirement for agreements with non-governmental entities.
