RESOLUTION DIRECTING MAYOR TO ANALYZE FEASIBILTY FOG

Board of County Commissioners · 2026-06-16 · resolution

Miami-Dade County Commissioners adopted a resolution directing the County Mayor to analyze the feasibility of establishing a low-interest revolving loan program. This program would assist local small businesses with the costs of financing and installing capital improvements necessary to comply with the County's Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) regulations. The program would be administered by the Dade County Federal Credit Union or a similar trusted local financial institution. A report with recommendations on program structure, funding, eligibility, and administration is required within 60 days of the resolution's effective date. This initiative follows previous efforts to manage sewer overflows and bypasses, including the adoption of Ordinance No. 18-22 which codified stricter FOG control standards. The RISE Miami-Dade Fund, a previous successful revolving loan program administered by Dade County Federal Credit Union, is cited as a precedent.
