Miami-Dade County approved a non-competitive designated purchase for tire purchases and related services. This action authorizes Contract Modification No. 2 to implement price adjustments and adds $870,000.00 in expenditure authority, bringing the total modified contract amount to $35,932,395.00 for Contract No. EVN0004711. The modification affects 12 tire products for Fedan Corp. dba Fedan Tire Co. due to tariff-related cost increases for rubber used in recapping/retreading. The People and Internal Operations Department will utilize the additional funds. The contract, originally awarded on February 4, 2025, for a five-year term, supports the County's fleet and emergency vehicles. Although other vendors offer domestic sourcing, Fedan's pricing remains the lowest for their awarded items even with the proposed thirteen percent increase. Competition was deemed not practicable due to international supply chain disruptions and potentially higher costs from a new solicitation. The decision was adopted by the Board of County Commissioners.
