Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted the 2026 Transit Development Plan (TDP) Major Update, covering the 10-year period from FY 2026 through FY 2035. This plan, branded as MDT10Ahead, is a requirement for transit agencies receiving state funds and serves as a strategic guide for transit needs, infrastructure, financial framework, land use integration, and future demand. The update includes a comprehensive review of DTPW's services, operating environment, coordination with other plans, and a 10-year implementation and financial plan. Public outreach included a survey with over 5,000 responses, pop-up events, social media efforts, and presentations to various committees and groups. The survey indicated general rider satisfaction and safety at stations, with opportunities for improvement in accessing stations and stops. An Advisory Review Committee (ARC) with representatives from various entities provided guidance. The plan forecasts ridership growth outpacing population growth, particularly among choice riders, with the development of premium transit corridors. Adoption of the TDP is a prerequisite for State Public Transit Block Grant funds.
