Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted the 2026 Transit Development Plan (TDP) Major Update, covering the 10-year period from FY 2026 through FY 2035. This plan, branded as MDT10Ahead, is a requirement for transit agencies receiving state funds and serves as a strategic guide for transit needs, infrastructure, investment, and future demand. The update includes an analysis of transit services, operating environment, land use integration, demand estimation, and a 10-year capital and operating program. Public outreach included surveys, pop-up events, and an Advisory Review Committee. The plan is expected to lead to ridership growth, particularly among choice riders, with the development of premium transit corridors. Adoption of the TDP is a prerequisite for State Public Transit Block Grant funds.
