Miami-Dade County is holding a countywide special election on November 3, 2026, to allow voters to decide on amending the Home Rule Charter. The proposed amendment addresses changes related to the reestablishment of elected County Constitutional Offices, including Sheriff, Tax Collector, Property Appraiser, and Supervisor of Elections. It also aims to clarify duties regarding finance and budget between the Clerk and the County, and requires County employees to take a leave of absence if running for an elected Constitutional Office.
