Miami-Dade County Commission is authorizing the execution of amended and restated county deeds to Building Better Communities of South Florida, Inc. This action allows for the conveyance of previously conveyed county properties to its affiliate, Javon Gardens LLC (a joint venture with Pyramid Construction). It also grants a two-year extension to obtain final certificates of occupancy for multi-family rental units intended for very low-, low-, or moderate-income households. The extension is until July 29, 2028. The original purpose was single-family homes for the Infill Housing Program, but this was amended to multi-family rental units. Justification for the extension includes uncontrollable delays and inability to secure financing. The Housing Committee forwarded this to the Board of County Commissioners with a favorable recommendation.
