Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is authorizing the execution of amended and restated county deeds to Building Better Communities of South Florida, Inc. This action allows for the conveyance of previously conveyed county properties to its affiliate, Javon Gardens LLC. A key aspect is granting a two-year extension for obtaining final certificates of occupancy for multi-family rental units intended for very low, low, or moderate-income households. The original purpose was single-family homes under the Infill Housing Program, but this has been amended to multi-family rental units. The extension pushes the deadline to July 29, 2028.
