AMENDING DEED RE BUILDING BETTER COMMUNITIES

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering a resolution to authorize amended and restated county deeds for three properties (Folio Nos. 10-7813-050-0380, 30-5032-000-0370, and 30-5032-000-0380) to Building Better Communities of South Florida, Inc. The resolution would allow Building Better Communities to convey these properties to its affiliate, Javon Gardens LLC (a joint venture with Pyramid Construction). It also grants a two-year extension, until July 29, 2028, for obtaining final certificates of occupancy for multi-family rental units intended for very low-, low-, or moderate-income households. The original purpose was single-family homes for the Infill Housing Program, but this was amended to multi-family rental units. The extension is justified by uncontrollable delays and the inability of Building Better Communities to secure financing independently. The Housing Committee forwarded this to the BCC with a favorable recommendation.
