Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is ratifying Change Order No. 1 to Contract No. S-945 with Ric-Man International, Inc. for the construction of a 60-inch Force Main (NL-1A) (West Segment). This change order increases the total contract amount by $1,662,315.17 and grants a 426-calendar day time extension. The project involved approximately 10,000 linear feet of 60-inch Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe (PCCP) Force Main along NW 162nd Street from NW 6th Avenue to NE 8th Avenue. The increase in cost is attributed to utility conflicts, required roadway repairs, tree mitigation, pipe interconnection complexities due to unforeseen site conditions, failures of existing asbestos cement pipe water mains, and delays from late design revisions and permitting issues. The project has been successfully completed, and this change order serves as the final contract closeout. The original contract was awarded on January 7, 2021, and ratified by the Board on April 20, 2021. The change order extends the substantial completion date from June 6, 2023, to August 5, 2024, and the final completion date from August 5, 2023, to October 4, 2024. The total contract value increases from $19,314,785.95 to $20,977,101.12. The project is part of Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department's Capital Improvement Program.
