COPART WEST SPECIAL TAXING DISTRICT

Miami-Dade County is establishing the Copart West Street Lighting Special Taxing District. The district will provide street lighting services within public rights-of-way. The project involves the installation of 18 LED streetlights. The estimated cost for the first year is $82,815.28, and for the second year is $18,647.70, with an estimated annual assessment of $4.8380 per assessable front foot. The developer, Copart of Connecticut, Inc., petitioned for the district, and 100% of property owners signed the petition. The agreement for street lighting services will be with Florida Power and Light (FPL). FPL's contractors and subcontractors may increase staffing to meet service requirements. The estimated completion for the project is Fall 2028, with initial billing in November 2029.
