COPART WEST SPECIAL TAXING DISTRICT

Miami-Dade County is establishing the Copart West Street Lighting Special Taxing District. The district will provide street lighting services within public rights-of-way. The project involves the installation of 18 LED streetlights. The estimated cost for the first year is $82,815.28, and for the second year is $18,647.70. The developer, Copart of Connecticut, Inc., is responsible for the first year's costs. Subsequent years will be funded by special assessments to property owners. Florida Power and Light (FPL) will own the system and may increase staffing for installation and maintenance. The estimated completion for the project is Fall 2028, with initial billing in November 2029.
