Miami-Dade County is establishing the Copart West Street Lighting Special Taxing District. The district is generally bounded by SW 236 Street to the north, SW 134 Avenue to the east, and the C-102 Canal to the south and west. The project involves the installation of 18 LED streetlights. The initial cost for the first year is estimated at $82,815.28, with subsequent years estimated at $18,647.70. The estimated cost per assessable front foot for the second year is $4.8380. The developer, Copart of Connecticut, Inc., petitioned for the district, and 100% of property owners signed. The estimated completion for the project is Fall 2028, with initial billing in November 2029. The Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department will manage the district.
