ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION AND UTILITY SERVICE FEE

Miami-Dade County is establishing a loan program for environmental remediation projects that protect the County's drinking water supply. This program will utilize funds from the Utility Service Fee. Loans will be available for properties currently owned by the County or previously owned by the County as of January 1, 2025. Eligible properties must be 10 acres or greater. Loans will have zero interest and a repayment period of up to 35 years. The program is discretionary and does not guarantee loans. The ordinance was introduced on 6/2/2026 and is currently in committee, with a tentative public hearing scheduled for 7/21/2026.
