ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION AND UTILITY SERVICE FEE

Miami-Dade County is establishing a loan program funded by utility service fees for environmental remediation projects. The program targets County-owned properties or former County-owned properties (prior to January 1, 2025) that are 10 acres or larger. The remediation must be for drinking water supply protection and benefit the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department. Loans will be zero-interest and repaid over up to 35 years. The ordinance amends Section 24-34 of the Code of Miami-Dade County. The Board of County Commissioners is the approving body.
