EXCHANGE PROPERTY BETWEEN COUNTY AND THE SOUTH FLORIDA

Miami-Dade County and the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) are exchanging land parcels. The County will receive 1.318 acres (Parcels 2, 5, 7, 8, and 11) from SFWMD, valued at $175,000.00, for roadway improvements to SW 157th Avenue. In exchange, the County will convey 3.889 acres of its own land to SFWMD, also valued at $175,000.00. The County property is bounded by SW 26 Street, SW 28 Street, SW 173 Avenue, and SW 172 Court. The Infrastructure, Innovation & Technology Committee forwarded this item with a favorable recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC). The BCC is scheduled to consider this on July 21, 2026. The total project cost for the roadway improvements is estimated at $26,593,000.
