Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering a resolution to authorize an additional two years and $18,629,677.00 in expenditure authority for Prequalification Pool No. RTQ-00862, Fire Suppression Systems Services. This would bring the total modified cumulative pool amount to $48,438,677.00. The extension aims to ensure continued compliance with fire and life safety codes across multiple County departments, including Community Services, Solid Waste Management, Transportation and Public Works, Aviation, Corrections and Rehabilitation, and Fire Rescue. The Safety and Health Committee forwarded this item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation. The pool, originally established in 2018, currently has eleven prequalified vendors, six with local addresses and three certified Small Business Enterprise (SBE) firms. Contract awards over $5,000,000.00, or $1,500,000.00 for Miami-Dade Aviation Department, require BCC ratification. The pool expires October 31, 2028, if approved.
