Miami-Dade County is seeking to ratify the submission of a grant application and authorize the execution of a grant agreement for the Venetian Causeway Bridge Replacement Project. The project aims to replace 11 bridges, originally built in 1926, with newer, more resilient infrastructure designed to last 50 years. The project will improve safety, meet updated design codes, enhance bicycle and pedestrian facilities, and address deterioration due to age and marine environment. The total estimated construction cost is $201,094,080, with federal funding of up to $100,547,040 from the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) under the Bridge Investment Program. The County will provide a local match of at least $50,273,520, and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) may contribute up to $50,273,520.
