Miami-Dade County is considering the conveyance of four county-owned properties to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami, Inc. and Elite Equity Development, Inc. for the development of affordable housing. The properties are declared surplus and will be conveyed for $10.00 each. The developers are required to build affordable housing to be sold to very low-, low-, or moderate-income households within two years of the County Deed recording. The matter was deferred from the July 21, 2026 agenda to September 1, 2026, at the request of Commissioner Cohen Higgins. The Housing Committee previously forwarded the item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation.
