Miami-Dade County deferred a resolution concerning the conveyance of county-owned properties for affordable housing development. The properties, identified by specific folio numbers, are to be declared surplus and conveyed to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami, Inc. and Elite Equity Development, Inc. for $10.00 each. The developers are required to build affordable housing for very low-, low-, or moderate-income households within two years of the conveyance. The deferral was requested by Commissioner Cohen Higgins to the September 1, 2026 Board of County Commissioners meeting. The Housing Committee had previously forwarded the item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation.
