Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to waive competitive bidding procedures to approve a Programming Partnership Operating and Management Agreement between Miami-Dade County and Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, Inc. This agreement allows Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, Inc. to continue operating the Pelican Harbor Seabird Station for the care of sick and injured seabirds at Pelican Harbor Marina, 1279 NE 79 Street Causeway, Miami, Florida 33138, until April 1, 2027. The agreement requires yearly fees to the County in the amount of $300.00. The Board is being asked to authorize the County Mayor or designee to execute the agreement. The Recreation, Tourism, and Resiliency Committee forwarded this item to the Board with a favorable recommendation. Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, Inc. has been operating at this location since 1990 and is planning to relocate to a new facility, but has experienced delays in construction.
