Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to waive competitive bidding procedures to approve a Programming Partnership Operating and Management Agreement between Miami-Dade County and Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, Inc. This agreement will allow Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, Inc. to continue operating the Pelican Harbor Seabird Station for the care of sick and injured seabirds until April 1, 2027. The station has been operating at this location since 1990 and is planning to relocate to a new facility. The agreement includes yearly fees to the County in the amount of $300.00. The Recreation, Tourism, and Resiliency Committee forwarded this item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation. The agreement allows for uninterrupted care of animals and continued educational programming.
