PINE ROCKLAND DONATION FOR EEL

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to accept a $925,000 donation from the Center for Biological Diversity, Miami Pine Rocklands Coalition, South Florida Wildlands Association, and Tropical Audubon Society. These funds are designated for the Environmentally Endangered Lands (EEL) Management Trust Fund, specifically for the management and acquisition of pine rocklands within Miami-Dade County. The EEL Program currently manages over 1,636 acres of pine rocklands and has identified an additional 415 acres for acquisition. The donation supplements existing county funds for conservation.
