Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering awarding Contract No. EVN0013501, for the supply of Quicklime, to Carmeuse Lime & Stone, Inc. The contract is for a five-year term with a total amount of $124,080,000.00. This contract is essential for the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) to ensure a continuous supply of quicklime for water treatment operations at its three regional water treatment plants. Approximately 42,000 tons of quicklime are required annually. The contract was awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder after an Invitation to Bid (ITB) was issued on March 9, 2026, and closed on March 31, 2026, receiving two bids. No certified Small Business Enterprise (SBE) firms were able to meet the solicitation requirements. The Infrastructure, Innovation & Technology Committee forwarded this item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation on June 10, 2026. The proposed contract replaces Contract No. FB-01772 and reflects updated unit prices due to current market conditions.
